COVID-19: Update from the Chamber

Chamber Postpones Upcoming Events & Programs;

Strives to Continue be a Resource to Members

In an effort to assist with social distancing and per the recommendation from the CDC regarding a reduction of gatherings for the next eight weeks, beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020 through Friday, May 8, 2020, we will be postponing our upcoming events. This rescheduling of Chamber programs and events also includes our class programs, Leadership Pike and Junior Ambassadors.

  •  All events, programs, and committee meetings will be postponed, and we will work to reschedule for later dates. This includes the Leadership Pike Community Dinner,  originally scheduled for March 19, and the Chamber Annual Banquet – The State of the County Address, originally scheduled for April 20. These events will be rescheduled for a time at which the entire county can celebrate our vibrant community. We thank our sponsors and participants for their support, and look forward to rescheduling these events.

  • Chamber Leadership Pike and Junior Ambassadors classes will be suspended from having in person classes during this time. This suspension will not affect graduation from the program.

  • All ribbon cuttings will be rescheduled or scheduled for future dates.

  • Any Chamber Committee meetings, if required during this time, will be held in virtual format or via conference call.

  • Any applications for programs or scholarships due during this time will now be received via digital format to the Chamber at info@pikecoc.com. Please no hand deliveries. Application deadlines will remain the same.

  • Please know that the Chamber will remain operational during this time. Even-though we have closed our office to the public, we are equipped to continue our work remotely. Support to our members will continue be available via email (info@pikecoc.com) and phone (334.566.2294).

  • The Chamber is working on digital program options which may include promotions, videos, and webinars that will available for the professional and personal development of your staff. Stay tuned for more information on how you and your teams can participate.

The Chamber will continue to closely monitor and evaluate information and guidance provided by local authorities as well as state and federal agencies as we go forward. Should the dates need to be adjusted or if there are any other updates, we will continue to communicate with members via email and our social media platforms.

“Our most important concern is that our members remain safe and secure from any potential exposure to the Coronavirus and that we, as a Chamber, continue to be a benefit and a resource to our community and membership through this trying time,” said Chamber President Dana Sanders. “We will work to reschedule as many events as possible. We will be closely monitoring the situation and will be continuously communicating resources for our member businesses and promoting buying locally safely featuring new policies and services of our member businesses through email, the weekly digital edition, and our social media platform.”

As we monitor information, we will be sharing pertinent updates with our members through digital format. The Chamber is aware of the occurring and potential impacts to our Pike County businesses, jobs, and residents. We will continue to strive to be a resource to our membership during this time.  We will continue to update you with any additional information or any updates on future Chamber events.

Our top priority is contributing to the health and safety of our community and members. Please continue to do your part to prevent the spread of any illness in your workplace and community by engaging in universal precautions and staying home when ill. We value your partnering with us in this endeavor.

Of course, we will always support and engage our valued members of our community, and will be following up with helpful strategies and tactics to assist you during this challenging time.
